PRESENTATION GUIDELINES
THE MOCK-UP

You are required to make and submit a physical mock-up of your proposal, in addition to this physical mock up you must submit a visual representation of the mock-up to support your written submission.

This may be presented as -
Photographs
Video clips of your physical mock-up
Digital 3D renderings of the pack proposal. (NB If you submit pictures or 3D renderings of the pack - please be sure to label the features of your proposed pack)
Images of your mock-up should be included in your written report. The physical mock-up need not be filled with the product if not practical.

The aim of the mock up is to best visually demonstrate your concept as discussed in your written submission and thereby it should enhance your written submission. If you are 'creatively challenged', you are not required to prepare your mock-up yourself. You may get assistance with this, but remember that you must indicate who assisted you and what work they did. Where you have used assistance in putting together the mock-up, the markers and judges will be looking for how well you briefed the creative expert in order to get to a most representative mock-up which clearly demonstrates the features and benefits of your proposal.

The mock up does not need to be in the actual material you have proposed, a simpler and more cost effective material may be used. The main purpose is to represent your concept in some physical way through the mock-up. Any differences between the mock-up and what you propose can be highlighted in your written submission.

You need to give thought to the practical functionality of your packaging concept in the mock-up. For example you may be able to demonstrate how opening and closing your pack could work.

Remember that the mock-up is the visual representation of your proposal, it counts for 15% of your assignment final submission, but it will also help to communicate your proposal in a quick and impactful way to markers, judges and in publicity. It also represents your level of pride in your work.
